This was the last of the nine. I painted the gesso on bit thick which adds texture, sometimes a good thing, sometimes not so good. I normally like a little texture for an" added element of experience" as they told us in art school. Of course it works better on big abstract pieces. It tends to confuse the eye in areas of detail on little paintings. I'm never really striving for perfection so it usually doesn't bother me even if it is a minor hindrance.
