Schooner Creek
oil on canvas

This creek flowed at a snails pace under the bridge I was standing on last Saturday. Directly on the other side started the massive marshy estero that eventually snakes its way into Drakes Bay. Although its not quite summer I was still reminded of Mark Twain's quote "the coldest winter I ever felt was the summer in San Francisco".  It was very cold, foggy and then an icy wind picked up in the late afternoon. I love it up there. I made a new friend on the beach, a 900 pound elephant seal that allowed me within 5 feet of her. I'll post some pics of her on Facebook.
